Soul Moments as a Key to Intentional Life - How Do You Open Your Day?

Dear Reader,

Can I ask a question?

When you woke up this morning, what did you promise yourself?

Did you set an intention for today? Stretched with hope to stay in bed for just a few more minutes?

And in those moments before you left your warm bed…

Where were your thoughts, heart, feelings?

The more intentional my life becomes, the more important these few minutes, just before waking up, become.

If I have a full day ahead of me, I take a deep breath and nourish my energy. I also set an intention, prioritizing the most important moments in the day to come. This helps me set the schedule.

If a more open day is ahead, I allow myself to invite deeper intentions.

I’ve been practicing taking this moment just before the day starts for years. Yet, also with gaps. At times, I forget how nourishing this simple practice is. The clarity it brings to me, and thus the clarity it ripples to those around me. Then, I return to it.

In our quick world, we are privileged to be homeschooling and thus, usually waking up when our body is ready to wake up, and not by an alarm clock. This also means we can each, take this moment of intentionality.

Not everyone feels they can take this moment (although it is only one moment). Sometimes, we end up going late to sleep and then start our next day early, taking in any additional moment of sleep possible.

For me, personally, setting the intentions within my heart later during the day is not as powerful as in those scared first moments. Yet, it is always better than not setting them at all.

As we spend our days at home together, our plans weaved into each other's schedules, wants, and perceptions of our day, we often take a moment in the mornings to share our intentions. Beyond accountability, it helps us align with each other.

Aligning with each other is one way of creating soul moments…

"Children and parents reciprocally influence each other equally. When either one of our children or we, the parents, experience a soul moment, the domino effect reaches us all and brings alignment to everyone."

Soul Moments

One of the greatest gifts I feel I received from my journey of integrating my physical recovery following the car crash and the spiritual doors that opened within my Near Death Experience is that of soul moments – moments of alignment – A moment in which I listen to my truth and follow it.

It can be about what to prepare for dinner, or the extra bite we take in, or we don’t as I share in The Promise We Made book. It can be about trusting our intuition about something we know about our child, although the ‘professionals’ say something different. Following it, and also communicating our trust to our child.

I invite you to explore The Promise We Made book (or what others are saying about it), and read more about Soul Moments and how they transformed our family and can transform yours in Chapter 8 – The Motion of Love.

We all have the capability to choose.

Indeed, sometimes, some of us here, from all around the globe, may feel that we are more bound.

Remember, we each chose to come to a certain environment. Possibly, some of what we hoped for in our journey is influenced by the enormous human confusion we see around us everywhere. Yet, we still all have the power to choose what kind of human we wish to be today.

It starts with the intention we set for our day, and continues with collecting soul moments.

In trust.

In myself. In you. In humanity's essence and Earth's beauty.
